How does the app know that I’m home?
When you first start the app, it will confirm your home address.
Then, it uses the sophisticated geolocation and geofencing tools built directly into your iPhone to determine when you actually arrive home.
How long does it take to set a notification?
You can set the app in as little as 3 taps. After launching the app: select a favorite (or several), tap the notify button & confirm the method in which you’d like to notify them. That’s it.
Can I setup favorites?
Yes! The app allows iPhone 5, 6, 6+, 6S, 6S+, 7 and 7+ to have up to twelve favorites on their home screen.
iPhone 4 and 4S users can have up to nine.
When do I have to set the app for it to work?
Set Knowtify anytime before returning home. Your notifications won’t be triggered until you're back.
How will my friends and family be notified that I’m home?
All those selected will be notified with a standard text message. The message will indicate that you’ve made it home and can be viewed on any text-capable mobile phone. Your friends and family don’t even need to have the Knowtify app to get the message.
Does the app share my whereabouts with others?
No. your privacy is very important to us. We never collect your location or share it with others. Your iPhone simply monitors when you arrive home, triggering the app to alert the people you previously selected.
† How much am I charged to send a notification?
Nothing. Zero. Zilch. Notifications are deployed from our servers, so you aren’t responsible for standard text messaging rates. Unfortunately, we don’t have the same control over fees recipients may incur. Our lawyers tell us that you should know, for those getting your notification texts, standard text messaging rates apply. #boo
How will I know that the notification was sent?
Whenever a notification (or set of notifications) is sent successfully, the app will send you a notification, letting you know that everything went as expected.
What if I don’t want the notification to be sent off automatically?
Each time you set the app, you’ll have two choices: send automatically & remind me to send after you’re home. The latter option checks in with you after you get home and waits for your approval before sending. This option is ideal for those that require more time actually getting into their home (their home location still requires parking, walking and entering another building, etc).
Can the app help me get a ride home?
Unfortunately, Knowtify can no longer help you hitch a ride home. In June of 2019, Uber revoked the API access we used to help facilitate a ride on your behalf. You can read more about their policy change, here.
How does the app affect my battery?
Once being set, Knowtify must be running in the background for the geo-triggers to work, but our team has spent a lot of time to ensure that Knowtify is never using more resources than necessary. By monitoring the phone's geolocation, at the system level, we're able to dramatically reduce the amount of attention, energy and power Knowtify needs to trigger your notifications. Over a seven day period, using Knowtify daily, we saw less than a 2% impact on the battery of iPhone 6, 6+, 6S, 6S+, 7, 7+, 8, 8+ and iPhone X running iOS 9.3 or higher.
I set Knowtify, but it didn't send any notifications when I got home. help?
If you arrived home and the app is set to "remind you after you get home," there will be a five-minute delay before it checks in to verify you are home, safely.
IF you've been home, but didn’t get a notification that the SMS was sent, check the app. Do you see a badge number on it? If so, the app checked in, but for whatever reason you missed the request (it’s possible you’ve turned off notifications). Launch the app and it will ask you to confirm you're home before sending your notifications.
In rare cases, it's possible that Knowtify will be unable to detect you are home and therefore, won't send notifications. This is not a persistent issue, but occurs when the native location services in iPhone don't trigger the app. We have worked extensively to ensure that this happens as little as possible and continue to refine our methods to eliminate the possibility, altogether. If you experience this problem, we recommend that you "cancel pending notifications" within settings and then fully quit the app before trying again.

It powers Knowtify and will soon drive many more apps, helping you to further automate your busy life. We have big plans for its future.
What if I don’t want people to know where I am?
Using Knowtify is completely voluntary. If you don’t want to alert anyone when you arrive home, don’t set the app.
Is Knowtify compatible with iOS 13 and the new iPhones?
Yes! Knowtify (v2.0.3) is fully compatible with iOS 10+ and is optimized for iPhone 5, 6, 6+ 7, 7+, 8 and 8+. Although Knowtify isn't fully optimized for the iPhone X series or iPhone 11/Pro, the app should operate normally. We're working on an update and hope to release it soon.
Is Knowtify compatible with the Watch?
Yes! Knowtify v2.0.3 is fully compatible with both the 38 & 42mm, Series 1, Series 2, Nike+, Hermes and Edition Apple Watches.
How do I use Knowtify on my Watch?
First, make sure that Knowtify is installed on your watch using the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Tapping the Knowtify icon on your watch will launch the app and list your favorites. Select those you'd like to notify (when you return home). Then, use Force Touch to bring up the actions menu. Choose your notification method and you're done.
How do i turn off auto-renew or cancel my subscription?
Subscription payment will be charged to your iTunes account at the confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of your current subscription period. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period. You can manage your subscription settings within the Account Settings, on your device, after your purchase.
